Un horaire de navette ne vaut quelque chose que s’il est juste à l’instant où on le lit. Un retard ou une annulation, et la grille affichée devient trompeuse. Le temps réel n’était donc pas un agrément : c’était la condition pour que l’application serve à quelque chose.A shuttle timetable is only worth something if it is right at the moment you read it. One delay or one cancellation, and the posted grid becomes misleading. Real time was therefore not a nicety: it was the condition for the app to be of any use.

En 2013, afficher un horaire en temps réel sur un téléphone n’allait pas de soi, et pour ce type d’activité cela n’avait pas été fait. Il fallait sortir une information qui vivait sur place et la rendre lisible à distance, sans la figer au passage.In 2013, showing a real-time timetable on a phone was not a given, and for this kind of business it had not been done. The task was to take information that lived on site and make it readable from a distance, without freezing it on the way.

J’ai gardé l’interface volontairement courte. Quelqu’un qui consulte un horaire de navette le fait debout, souvent pressé, et chaque écran supplémentaire entre lui et l’heure du prochain départ est un écran de trop.I deliberately kept the interface short.
