Stairway MusicStairway Music

Stairway Mike Music was a music label and also a recording studio. The label wanted a site to pass on its news and, above all, to make available a repertoire of sheet music that its audience could download.

Comment c'est construitHow it is built

The repertoire was the centrepiece of the site, and it was not presented as a list: it was browsed as a tree, where the visitor worked down by theme to the score they were after. A body of sheet music is not browsed like a product catalogue; you come into it through what you want to play.

I spent most of the time on the repertoire, because it was the only part of the site whose structure was not obvious. The rest — news, newsletter, form — was familiar work. A label that lets you download its scores is doing something genuinely useful, provided you can find the one you are looking for.
